I Have a Quote for You

Hello friends and followers.

Ok. I came upon this quote many years ago. It’s stuck with me and it comes to mind at seemingly random times. As I get older, I’m beginning to see the truth of it more and more, like slowly unwrapping a gift and finding it’s more, better and different than you initially thought. I’ve learned it’s from John Milton’s Paradise Lost:

‘The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a Heaven of Hell and a Hell of Heaven.’

Today I’m sending you all my sincere wishes for a peaceful, meaningful holiday season. No matter your circumstance, remember the quote. I hope all of our new year’s celebrations, dreams and wishes are happy and fun-filled. If not, remember the quote. At the very least I’m hoping that this winter brings the beginning of a new trend that heads upward from this last year’s theme of stress, tedium and chaos into a place of freedom, healing and balance. Or at least that we will remember to employ the quote.

As we head into Winter’s darkness, as we walk through the transitions of our government and as we move from the ending of one year into a new one, remember the quote. Our minds are their own places. And we have some say as to whether we’re experiencing Hell or Heaven.

Stay well, find joy and keep looking forward with hope for better times in 2021.

My heart to yours, I wish you heaven.
